I am a master's level horticulturist and freelance garden writer living in Wilmington, NC.  I have gardened all over the United States, an in almost every zone. 

My background is in public gardens, and I have now owned my own house for a year.  Go with me as I maintain my first garden where I get to make all of the decisions based on what I want to do, learn or try.  Quite a change from managing hundreds of acres!

Even though I spent years studying the subject, you'll see I have a bit of an irreverant take on gardening.
